From Aspiration to Empowerment: the birth of her career

Where It All Began

Growing up, I was fascinated by the skies and the possibilities beyond. This passion led me to pursue a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Physics, where I immersed myself in the world of aviation and space. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I quickly realized how male-dominated these industries were, and imposter syndrome became a frequent companion.

The Turning Point

Despite the challenges, I pushed through, landing roles at Hypersonix Launch Systems and Saber Astronautics, eventually shifting gears to focus on aviation. My coding journey began here, something I initially disliked but grew to appreciate as I saw its impact in solving real-world problems at Qantas. Now, as a System Analyst, I thrive in a role that combines my technical skills with problem-solving—a far cry from the student who doubted her place in STEM.

The Birth of Her Career

I often found myself mentoring women who faced similar struggles through this journey. That’s when I realised: women need more than encouragement—they need tools, strategies, and a community. Her Career was born out of my desire to bridge this gap, offering a space where women can flourish, unapologetically.

Where I’m Headed

The journey doesn’t stop here. I envision Her Career becoming a global movement, reshaping how women navigate their professional lives. My goal is to expand our resources, foster leadership, and collaborate with organizations to open more doors for women across industries, all while growing my own career and using at as example for all!
